Sekolah Seri Cahaya's Prefectorial Board '09

The Prefectorial Board of SSC is basically an organisation which helps to maintain the discipline of the students. With proper guidelines by the members Disciplinary Board, the prefects try their very best to correct the students' mistakes.

This board has got prefects of various personalities and characters. This board is divided into 10 departments led by respective Excos (Head of Department). The departments are Bulletin, Welfare, ICT and Multimedia, Treasury, Prefects' Discipline, Spotcheck / Confiscated Items, Secretary, Prefects' Room Management, Sports and Merits and Demerits System Department.

Our main duty is to make sure that the school rules are followed by the students, but before that, all the prefects are to correct themselves and make sure that they follow all the school rules. That is why it has become a school policy that every year, before the Installation Day, the prefects are to go for a Leadership Training Camp to polish up their leadership and multi - tasking skills and it is compulsory. Also, if a prefect does something wrong, that prefect is to receive double the amount of demerits compared to a normal student.

The EXCOs..

For the year 2009, the Prefectorial Board will be led by Tan Li Yun and she will be assisted by Emily Cheah and Nur Hanis. Together they oversee the prefectorial board. There are several departments that make up the prefectorial board. They all work hand-in-hand to ensure the prefect board runs smoothly and successfully.

The ICT and Multimedia department is led by Mattew Lo. This department is involved in the creation and regular updates of the board's website and taking of photos of every events and activities. It also publishes a bulletin every two months to inform others of the activities and events happenning around the school.

Kailash Kumar is the head of the Merit/Demerit System Department which deals with the updating and organization of the merit and demerit points for all the students. She also works with the ICT and Multimedia Department to publish the school's rules and regulations.

Ho Ka Mun makes up the Treasury Department as treasurers; they handle the prefect board's account. Their main responsibility is updating the account as well as collecting the monthly fee from all the prefects.

Syafiqah Hatta and Sonia Raveena are the secretaries who deal with reports regarding prefect meetings and activities as well as writing notices and letters.

The Spot-check and Confiscated Items Department is headed my Sean Yiap. They organize monthly spot-checks and keep track of all confiscated items.

Wong Li Teng leads the Prefect's Discipline Department which monitors the behavior prepares a special demerit system for the prefects.

The Welfare Department is led by Amelin. This department organizes Birthday Celebrations for the prefects and the teachers and also makes sure that the food and drinks in the Prefects' Room are constantly available for the prefects.

Nur Liyana is the Head of Department for Event Management. This department basically organizes all events related to the Prefectorial Board.

The other school prefects are under their respective heads. They also play an important role in helping the head by giving their support and effort to ensure the smooth operation and expansion of their respective departments.
